The winner of the Global Teacher Prize 2020, Rainjitsinh Disale, will mentor teachers in Maharashtra.
On Wednesday, state Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif informed that Rainjitsinh Disale will guide Maharashtra teachers on the use of modern technology in education through ‘teacher inspiration’ workshops.

Teachers in the state will gain new confidence through these workshops and will work with more vigor. The way many communities look at government schools will also be transformed through this initiative, added Hasan Mushrif.

Rainjitsinh Disale is a teacher at the Zilla Parishad primary school at Paritewadi in Solapur district.

For promoting the education of girls and triggering a QR code-based “textbook revolution”, Disale was awarded with winner of the Global Teacher Prize 2020 the last year, in recognition of his efforts. He also became the first such winner who proposed to share the prize money with fellow finalists.

Through the novel initiative of the ‘virtual field trip’, Rainjitsinh Disale has taught from over 1,400 schools in more than 143 countries. To accelerate the process and idea of imparting knowledge through technology, he has mentored over 16,000 teachers about the same.
