The QS ‘Top 50 under 50’ Ranking has been released today. The full form of QS is Quacquarelli Symonds. Universities across the world which are 50 years old or younger are ranked in this list. The Young University Ranking is its equivalent. It was also released today. India Universities could not feature in the top 50 of either of the lists.
The top young university in the world according to the QS Top 50 Under 50 continues to be the Nanyang Technological University. From India, the best performance was given by IIT-Guwahati this year. It was ranked in the band of 61-70 in the younger universities. IIT-Guwahati had an overall rank of 470.
As per the NIRF Ranking 2020, IIT-Guwahati is the seventh-best institute in India.

THE BEST IN INDIA: QS TOP 50 UNDER 50
IIT-Guwahati comes under the band of 61-70.
IIT-Hyderabad comes under the band of 101-150.
The University of Hyderabad comes under the band of 101-160.
The OP Jindal Global University comes under the band of 101-150.
The University of Hyderabad has made its debut in the QS ‘Top 50 under 50’ in its 46th year. But it was unable to make it to the ranks. In the HRD Ministry’s ranking announced earlier, The University of Hyderabad was at the sixth spot followed closely by IIT Guwahati.
TOP 10 UNIVERSITIES: QS TOP 50 UNDER 50
The 1st rank has been secured by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore.
The 2nd rank has been secured by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
The 3rd rank has been secured by the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
The 4th rank has been secured by the City University of Hong Kong.
The 5th rank has been secured by the University PSL (Paris Sciences and Letters).
The 6th rank has been secured by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The 7th rank has been secured by the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).
The 8th rank has been secured by the Sorbonne University.
The 9th rank has been secured by the Aalto University.
The 10th rank has been secured by the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Most of the Indian institutes had slipped in the positions when the world university ranking was announced by QS earlier this month. Among the world’s top 1,000, 21 Indian Universities have found a place this year, contrary to last year’s 25.
