UGC guidelines on final year exams

In COVID 19 times, the Central University of Punjab has given students the flexibility to select the semester examinations dates from July 6. In one slot, 140 students will be permitted in a particular slot. 

RK Kohli, the Vice-Chancellor of PUNJAB UNIVERSITY, told that the university is planning to hold examinations based on UGC guidelines from July 6 in order to reduce the stress level of students. 

The PUNJAB UNIVERSITY is all set to provide a new scheme to its students. According to it, the students are free to choose the dates which suit them to appear in the exams. 

The University will soon implement it. The VC RK Kohli noted that the students were in a dilemma regarding even semester examinations, so the institute devised this procedure. 

Adding further, he asserted that test slots will be given, where students can register themselves, and seats would be allowed on the basis of first come first serve. 

There would be four slots in a day. For the convenience of students, even at weekends, they can give the papers. 

The colleges will only disclose the examination schedule and students will have the leniency to prefer dates to write their tests. A total of 140 students can come up for the exam in one space while precisely following the medical procedure in view of the coronavirus outbreak,” Kohli of said.

 The vice-the chancellor said a dry run of the novel endeavor was tested successfully early this year. The method to help students manage exam-related pressure will be a convenient feature.

CUP authorities said the exam system will also aid the students in a fix when dates of UGC entrance tests and other exams have a probability to crash with the university’s academic calendar. 

The administration told that students were not in good condition due to stretched lockdown because of the pandemic, this news by the University will have a positive impact on the students. 

 

If a student demands, the CUP will enable her or him to take more than one or even all four exams on a solo day. To regulate the possibility of recurrence of question papers, the university has formulated an automated paper setter,” the V-C asserted. 

“An in-house exam strategy will take care of producing distinct question papers of the same subject taken on various days,” he added.

Punjab University (PU) is reopening for the teaching personnel on June 15. After the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) granted fresh lockdown guidelines on Saturday, the PU council started intending on various elements. This comprises giving three weeks before notice to students before performing exams and feedback from all departments to start lessons, if allowed, in July, said sources.

“The university is willing to open for the teaching staff from June 15 as our summer holidays are getting over. We will declare openly starting classes or performing examinations as per the MHA guidelines. We are planning something . Once completed, these will be informed to the public. We need to see the planning according to the ongoing situation,” admitted PU Registrar, Prof Karamjeet Singh.
