PUNJAB UNIVERSITY CLASS 12th RESULTS ARE DECLARED: QUICK GLANCE ON TOPPERS AND THEIR STORIES

PU MET 2022

Punjab University declared class 12th board results on 24th of April 2018. The results were announced on the official website of Punjab Board School Education Board. In the list produced by the Board, there are 16 students who topped the exam from academic and sports and around 10 students who bagged the top ranks in the list are from Ludhiana.
In the list of the top 16 Students, there are 8 from the Humanities, 4 from the Commerce and the rest 4 are from the Science stream.

POOJA JOSHI
98%, Humanities.

With 98% Pooja Joshi became the state topper in Humanities stream. She is a student of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Sr. Secondary School. Pooja Joshi is a daughter of Mr Dinesh Joshi who is a priest in a local temple.
Miss Joshi had Economics, English, Finance and Sociology as her subjects.
She told in the interview, “Taking tuitions has become more of the trend now. But I always rely on self-study and extra classes in School. My father earns just enough to run the family, so I never wanted to waste the money on tuitions.”

PRACHI GAUR
100% Humanities.

A student of BCM SR. Secondary school, Ludhiana Prachi Gaur is a state level gold medallist in softball. She scored 100% in Humanities and got the first rank in the state. She never joined any coaching or tuitions classes.

She stated- “I will try to continue with my sports in future also. I also prepare for civil services.”

PUSHWINDER KAUR
100%, Humanities.

Pushwinder Kaun is the 2nd rank holder in the list with 100% in Humanities. She is a bronze medalist state-level player of the basketball player. Her father is an owner of a tent house and her mother is a house-wife.

She told- “I am playing basketball for four years now and will continue my sport.”

MANDEEP KAUR
99.56%, Humanities.

Mandeep stands at 3rd position in the sports category, with 99.56% in the stream of Humanities. She is national level player of Kabaddi. She was the student of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School in the village Kot Sukhia, Faridkot.
Mandeep’s father is a driver from the profession and has several plans for his daughter. Mandeep has already enrolled her name in an IELTS institute and wants to go abroad for higher studies.

She stated- “I want to try for Canada or Australia, as I see my future is bright outside this state. I am happy to see my results. My hard work has paid me a dividend.”

JASNOOR KAUR
97.33, Commerce.

Jasnoor is a student of Dashmesh Girls Senior Secondary School, Badal village of Muktsar District. She bags 3rd position in the state with 97.33% in commerce stream.

She told- “It is like a dream, I was just expecting merit. I will try for Delhi University now, I want to do B.Com (Hons.) and my ultimate dream is to be an IAS Officer.”

VIVEK RAJPUT
97.55 %, Science.

Vivek topped the Science stream in the state withholding 97.55 %.
He was the student of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School.
He believed that one can do good without taking tuitions for an even non-medical stream.
He said- “My parents also asked me if I would like to go for tuitions. I refused.”
