On Wednesday Punjab Government provide the main relief to the students, faculty, and the staff members. Punjab government has taken some important steps towards schools.

Punjab Government gave an extension to around 2,200 such schools for another academic session, 2020-21. This was the major step taken for students and teachers.

Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla informed that after researching the critical condition due to circulating COVID-19 pandemic in Punjab, the education section has concluded to give them a breather for a restricted period of time. He added that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has accepted the proposal.
The cabinet minister said that during the expansion period, these schools will have to strictly ensure the safety and protection of students.

the organizations will have to provide an undertaking to the education department till December 31, 2020, about modifications in their infrastructure and campus area. If any school will decline to meet the required criteria, it will be enabled to begin again educational activities only for Pre-primary classes on its assumptions,” Singla said.
He said that due to the stretch of coronavirus, the issue of expansion has been dealt with sympathetically by the education department. He added that the problem will be reviewed again after December 31, 2020, and the school failing to meet the standards will be allowed to continue only pre-primary classes for students not bigger than the age group of 3 to 6 years.
The cabinet minister said that the security and safety of the school-going children are at the ultimate priority of Punjab Government and it will not be jeopardized at any cost.

He also organized the officials of the education department to perform routine surprise checking of associated schools in their respective jurisdictions to assure the security of students.

He asked the management of associated schools to precisely acknowledge the directions of the education department to avoid punitive action.
