On October 15, Punjab Government will reopen schools for classes 9 to 12. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued guidelines regarding the reopening of schools.
So, Punjab Government took this decision in line with the guidelines that the Ministry of Home Affairs issued. The Government issued new SOPs in case of reopening of school. One such SOP is that the authority cannot allow more than 20 students in one section of the class.
PUNJAB GOVERNMENT SENT THE ADVISORY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS
Punjab government sent the advisory of reopening school from October 15 to the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice by the Secretary of School Education Department in Punjab. It was sent on Wednesday.
PUNJAB GOVERNMENT WILL REOPEN SCHOOLS FOR 3 HOURS ONLY
According to the official statement and the Education Department of the state, students of class 9 to 12 will only be allowed to attend physical classes. Schools will reopen for 3 hours daily. It is mandatory to follow social distancing norms, personal hygiene, wearing masks, and sanitization inside the school premises.
PUNJAB GOVERNMENT WILL CALL THE TEACHERS IN TWO SHIFTS
Moreover, the Health Ministry mentioned in the SOPs that students have to follow the minimum distance gap. Only one student will sit on each desk and they should maintain a distance between the benches. If students will be more in number, teachers will be called in 2 shifts of three hours each.

OTHER STATES GOVERNMENT WILL REOPEN SCHOOLS ALONG WITH PUNJAB GOVERNMENT
Many other state governments other than Punjab Government decided to reopen schools of class 9 to 12 students from October 15 in a graded manner. Whereas some states decided not to reopen schools as they are not ready to risk the lives of students amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Technical and Education Minister of Maharashtra Uday Samant said that in this situation, it is not relevant to conduct physical classes in schools and other educational institutions. However, Karnataka Government decided that it will take expert opinion before the reopening of schools and colleges.
