PlayersUnknown Battle Ground or PUBG Mobile, an immensely popular online multiplayer game, is among the 118 Chinese applications banned by the Indian government. On Wednesday, due to tensions over the recent Chinese provocation at border of Ladakh, the Indian govt. banned the famous PUBG app. The Indian government said that the move is in the possession of India’s integrity, sovereignty, security, and defense.
Tencent’s PUBG Mobile is among the list of the world’s top five mobile games app with more than 734 million downloads. As per the reports, India comprises over 50 million active PUBG players and over 13 million players play it daily.
According to the Information Technology Ministry, these 118 apps are indulged in activities that are prejudicial to integrity and sovereignty, security, and defense of India.
The statement said the government’s decision is a planned action to assure security, safety, and sovereignty of Indian cybersecurity. It added that the move would protect the interests of crores of Indian internet and mobile users.

PUBG mobile or Tencent’s PlayersUnkown Battleground, accentuates a battle game for almost 100 players match with guns and weapons until the last one survives. By the end of June, the government banned 59 Chinese mobile applications including Alibaba’s UC Browser, Tencent’s WeChat, and Bytedance’s TikTok for ensuring cybersecurity.
Explaining and justifying his recent move, the IT ministry said it had obtained several grievances regarding the misuse of technology. IOS platforms and android mobile applications are used for knocking off cybersecurity and surreptitiously disseminating users’ data outside the country.

The issued statement further read that the miscellany of this database, it’s profiling, it’s mining by elements is a threat to national security and defense. It ultimately impinges upon the integrity and sovereignty of India and is a matter of concern that compels emergency actions.
The government said that the cybercrime center of home ministry had proposed the blocking of these malicious applications. The other applications banned by the government include online payment applications, selfie editing software, games, and dating apps.
