The Delhi commissioner for women (DCW) recently salvaged a 20-year-old girl from Rohini, who was in the pretext of a high salaried job was being pushed into a prostitution racket.
The DCW said that the girl reached helpline number “181” of the commission and told that one of her friends had compelled her into prostitution racket after attracting her with a decent job.
The commissioner added that the girl was told that he could help her in earning good money in a shortcut and a susceptible manner.
On August 25, the women believed the words of his acquaintance and accompanied to a house in Delhi’s Rohini sector-6. Upon reaching the place, the girl was allegedly urged into prostitution with various clients regularly.

The girl was asked to do the job and was told that she will be paid Rs 1000 per client. When the women complained and protested against it, she was beaten up, threatened, and was further locked inside a room.
On receiving the call, members of Kiran Negi and DCW Swati Maliwal built a team for the girl’s rescue operation. When the rescue team reached the location, they found that there were three other women and some men including the accused in the house in Rohini.
The accused men however managed to escape from the backdoor of the house in Rohini. His partners also attempted to escape from the house, but the rescue team caught them, the DCW added.
The accused women confessed that she was a part of the prostitution racket along with the accused men. She accepted that they were involved in a prostitution scandal operating from the Rohini house.
The 20-year-old woman who called 181 for help was rescued and all the other people who were present in the house have been taken to the custody.
However, the main accused is not yet caught and the police are trying to catch him. The woman was therefore taken for medical tests after her statement of the incident was recorded. The woman is safe and her statement has been recorded, the DCW said.
A senior police officer asserted that a case has been filed and so far three people have been arrested in this regard.
The officer added that we have received a complaint after which a team of police officers was sent to the location but the issue is underway investigation.
