PROFESSOR QUITS THE POST AMID DU AD HOC TEACHERS’ ROW

A professor quits the post of the zoology division at DU College. He gave up his post amid the ongoing concern over ad hoc teachers. A letter to the governing body of Swami Shraddhanand College of DU.

Professor SK Sagar said, “It became very hard to begin again as the teacher-in-charge of the zoology branch. The expulsion of the ad hoc educators accomplished by the college in the category of SC and ST in the interviews executed from May 11 to May 14.”

The letter further said they worked for so many years and their assistance is highly appreciated. They attained to begin furthermore rather than face banishment from the college. There they provided their usefulness to the college with the most devotion.

This became one of the first steps carried out by a teacher-in-charge in objection against the ongoing problem, teachers asserted.

Sagar said, “The college administration announced ‘not found reasonable’ for the EWS category despite loyalties and confirmations given by the DU administration at varied platforms.” It became also against the decree of the DU Teachers’ Association (DUTA).

Highlighting problems confronted in the EWS classification. Sagar said, “In that atmosphere, it is very hard for me to resume as the teacher-in-charge. My words and protest became unheard by the college authority. So I chose to quit as the teacher-in-charge, considering it is favorably dishonest to hold the role.

Sagar added that he would start again to conduct other educational or administrative tasks. Senior SSN college authorities could not be caught up for comment.

According to the information compiled by several teachers’ organizations, the rate of banishment of ad-hoc teachers has now attained 82%. Therefore, the professor quits the post.
