PM Modi mentioned that the National Medical Commission, the healthcare sector and the whole medical education is transforming and will help in bringing great transparency. Prime Minister addressed a convocation of the Dr. MGR Medical University.

He addressed the 33rd Convocation through video conferencing. The state-run Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University recently celebrated the 33rd convocation. He added that the whole medical education and health care sector will go through a major transformation.

The MBBS seats rose by more than 50 percent from 2014 which means that seats increased by around 30,000 seats in 6 years. Whereas the post-graduation seats increased by around 80 percent from the year 2014 which means 24,000 seats. Moreover, the media reports that in 2014 there were a total of six AIIMS in the country.

PM Modi congratulated the students, specifically the female students in the convocation ceremony. He added that women are leading all the sectors in the country.

When PM Modi was talking about the success of women, he said that it’s a moment of immense pride and joy for the whole country. He added on complimenting the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and said that the success of the institute and its students would have generated a great feeling in Dr. Ramachandran.
