Exams of students of the National School of Open Schooling, NIOS are going to be held next month. But, owing to the present condition, parents are not ready to send their kids for offline exams. They have appealed to the Human Rights Commission that NIOS should cancel exams of students next month and conduct their exams online.
They said that it is difficult for them to come to the examination center, find writers and make their children follow COVID-19 norms and protocols.
CAN PARENTS WRITE EXAMS AS WRITERS?
A mother of class12th student residing in Mumbai said that NIOS had earlier issued a notification that in the absence of writers, parents can write the exam. However, they have not issued any notification for the same yet.

On the other hand, the board has allotted examination centers so far. To understand the ongoing situation, they must have allotted the examination centers close to home. The mother of that class 12th student said that they have to travel from Andheri to Mumbai Central and Cuffe Parade.
MANY STUDENTS WILL NOT APPEAR FOR NIOS EXAMS THIS YEAR
Some of the parents said that their child is suffering from depression, anxiety, and fear due to offline exams in COVID-19 adding to disabilities. On the other hand, many students will not appear for NIOS board exams this year because they could not find writers.

CANCEL OR CONDUCT NIOS EXAM IN ONLINE MODE
Parents are asking to either hold exams in online mode or cancel exams and promote all the students. The Education Minister said that they have allowed board exams across the country. Secondly, BMC also passed a circular on 12th January in which it permitted to conduct board exams.
