PARENTS APPEAL AT SUPREME COURT AGAINST CBSE EXAMS

A petition was filed in the supreme court by a group of parents to direct the CBSE Board to hold the examinations to be held from July 1.

they expressed their concern that the students will be exposed to coronavirus if they had to appear at the examination centers.

They appealed the Supreme court in this context sought a stay on the CBSE decision. They have also appealed to the apex court to intervene and to direct the board to give marks to the students on the basis of internal assessments.

The CBSE Board had earlier announced that the remaining Board examinations would be conducted from July 1 to July 15 across the country at 15000 centers.

As per the petition which is filed by advocate Rishi Malhotra, the CBSE has canceled the examinations of Class X and XII for its 250 odd schools which are situated abroad and it has adopted criteria in which marks will be awarded on the basis of either practical exams or the internal assessment marks which have already been conducted.

They also highlighted their voice via petition saying that it was highly regretted that respondents herein had no genuine concern about putting the lives at the peril of all the students in India.

They also said that the board has no explanation whatsoever in insisting upon holding the said examination in India.

Advocate Malhotra added that when various educational institutes including Delhi University, IITs, and state boards have canceled the examinations with an aim to protect the students and avoid them from being exposed to the virus then why CBSE can’t do the same.
