‘PADHE BHARAT’ CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED BY UNION EDUCATION MINISTER

On 1 January, Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister launched the ‘Padhe Bharat’ campaign. This 100-days reading campaign will concentrate up to class 8th students.

Padhe Bharat campaign will assist to boost creativity, vocabulary, critical thinking ability, and more. Plus, the minister has talked about the importance of reading while launching the campaign. Besides, he said that reading books is an incredible way to develop language, critical thinking, and social skills. 

Further, he gets inspiration from PM Modi encouraging citizens to make reading a habit. In his tweet, he committed to reading books regularly. “Reading is the foundation to develop learning, creativity, cognitive and improving vocabulary. Consequently, students start relating it to their real-life surroundings”, he emphasized.

He said, “There is a need to cultivate an environment for children in which they read for fun and pleasure. Thereafter, it develops their skills through an enjoyable process for a lifetime.” In addition, he shares five-book names that he picks for reading.

‘PADHE BHARAT’ CAMPAIGN WILL CONTINUE FOR 14 WEEKS

This 100-day Padhe Bharat Campaign will continue for 14 weeks. Every week one activity will be given per group. Moreover, the campaign is designed to make reading more joyful. 

GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES ON 100-DAYS READING CAMPAIGN 

In the view of the campaign, the government shares the detailed guidelines with states And Union Territories. In guidelines, a weekly calendar of activities according to age is cited. Also, activities are designed in a way, students can perform at home with available resources. However, if schools are closed, families and guardians can help them. 

IGNOU PH.D. ENTRANCE EXAM APPLICATION DATE EXTENDED

On 31 December, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) gave a statement, “The crucial skill to prepare children for making a better world for themselves is reading. It develops their social ability, cognitive and communication skills.”
