Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) os all set to organize online placement drives and even online internship assistance to its students during lockdown because of Covid-19 spread.
the University Placement Cell (UPC) has been directed to stay ready by Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia.

An automation platform for training and placement processes has been adopted by UPC. And is even ready with the portal to conduct the online placement drives.

University Placement Cell (UPC) is coordinating with many companies to fight the huge challenge of providing job placements and internships to students during the lockdown.
There are various challenges as University is shut with no/ not many students on campus and even the companies have very limited access to work.

Many companies have resorted to the work from home option and they are even extending the possibility and opportunity of internships and job cases.
Companies which have shown interest in the online placement drives are Amazon, Byjus, Bloombrain, Connect2Survey, RTDS, Hiretek, Sterlite, DataMark, NIIT Ltd., Samsung Display, Hundred Plus, Skool, Dark Phoenix Studios (MO ON TV), E-vision TechnoServe, Havells, Peacock Solar, etc.

Various video meetings have also been held by UPC with the Teacher Placement Coordinators and Student Placement Committees of various departments in order to discuss the situation and the possibilities.

Jamia placement drive

This is UPC’s first phase of placements during last semester’s pre-COVID-19 lockdown.
52 companies extended 257 job offers to students of various postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma courses, during the drive.

Jamia placement companies and package

Pratham Batra, a student of B.Tech (Comp. Engg), was offered a pre-placement offer by Microsoft India with the highest annual salary package of Rs 41 lacs.
Ms. Abha Agarwal, a student of B.Tech (Elect. & Comm.) was also offered an internship . with a stipend of Rs. 80000/- per month.

Companies which extended job offers:-
SAMSUNG R&D, IEMENS, Mahindra Comviva, Vedanta Ltd, NIIT, L&T Ltd, American Express, WIPRO Technologies, IBM, L&T Construction, Innovaccer, TFT, Springboard, Newgen Technologies, Zia Semiconductors, TCS, OYO, AVIZVA, Fujitsu Consulting, JLL Consulting, Azim Premji Foundation, Shareit, TV9, CINIF group, OPTUM, United Health Group, etc.

online classes are regularly being taken by the teachers of Jamia and in addition to these four online faculty development programs for capacity building of around 800 teachers of the university in online teaching have also been initiated.
