Approximately 9,700 applications were made for the remaining DU undergraduate seats. DU 2nd cutoff applications started from 19th October 2020. However, the cutoff drop is very marginal, i.e. 0.75 to 1 percent. DU senior official says, exactly 9,725 students applied for the various DU college + course combo. Therefore, 2,580 applications are approved till now and 2,602 students secured seats by paying the fees.

All the popular courses are majorly closed for applications. Also, the available courses have very few seats available with them. Hence, such a marginal drop in cutoff is witnessed. Therefore, the underlying factor is that around 1.5 lakh students pass their board examination each year and aspire for DU. But, only 75,000 of them get admission due to the lack of seating facility.
