On Monday, Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, congratulated the parents and teachers on the successful launch of Delhi’s remote teaching-learning initiative.
This Delhi’s remote teaching-learning initiative was announced on July 2, to cover the academic loss in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. All the schools are closed till July 31 and the Directorate of Education has planned this alternative for all students in classes KG to XII of all government and aided schools of Delhi.
The first worksheet was given to the students from KG to Class XII on the very first day of the program. This worksheet contains engaging and syllabus irreligious activities to encourage writing, basic numeracy, reading, and happiness among students.
Furthermore, worksheets of Science, Mathematics, and Hindi were given to the students of Class IX and X. They will get 2-3 worksheets daily.
As per the government in a statement, on the first day, approximately 15 lakh students have received the worksheets. Teachers have shared all the worksheets with the students through a WhatsApp group organized at the class level.
Now all the students were instructed to work on the worksheets and share them in the same group with their teachers.
The city government stated that the teacher will get the printouts of the worksheets for the students who don no have access to WhatsApp and will hand them over to their parents on a weekly basis.
Sisodia added that the teachers really worked hard to make Delhi’s remote teaching-learning successful. To ensure that the learning does not stop they have prepared and distributed the worksheets among the school students.
The teachers are shortlisted from Delhi government schools to take online classes in History and English for Class XII students.
Live classes, Delhi’s remote teaching-learning were streamed on YouTube for Class XII students and students can ask their doubts in the comment box directly which will be solved by the teachers.
Live lessons on YouTube were watched by approximately 23,000 students and more than 1.35 lakh people have accessed the video on YouTube, till now.
Sisodia mentioned that in this situation it is crucial to interact creatively with the students digitally on the various platforms. The teachers have created a very attractive content. He said this step has boosted the confidence of the teachers who are serving hard to reach out to every child.
