Online classes

Online classes are becoming worse for students. Medical experts have said that students are encountering physical and mental ailments due to the online classes that might leave a long-lasting impact on their overall health.

A 10-year-old Simarjit complained of wrist pain. Maninder Singh, an Orthopaedic Consultant with Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC) understood that the hand-held device the child is operating for more than 10 hours a day for classes, exams, and games have weakened his wrist. Subsequently, it caused tendonitis (inflammation of muscles around the wrist).

Moreover, he said that disrupted sleep is also negatively affecting the mass of students who crossed their teenage period. Approximately 20 percent of the students enrolled for ISIC’s physiotherapy course have informally requested to reschedule the class after 10 AM as they sleep as late as 3 AM. Due to this,  they can’t wake up on time.

A Delhi University student meanwhile said that his eyes have started paining and he is mentally confused due to the pressure mounted by online classes. I have to listen to eight hours of online classes and it is tough to attend them all. I think my performance will mourn due to this, he added.
