With the support from the sponsors, Vedhik Erudite Foundation initiated this and while declaring the ‘ one school, one IAS’ program open, they stated that implementation of this scheme will enable meritorious yet financially restricted students to pursue their aspirations and will give them an opportunity to redecorate their plans and a way to execute them.
The first sponsorship declaration was made by Famous Actor Manju Warrier hailing the scholarship program by the Vedhik Erudite Foundation. The actor has adopted 10 girl students by fulfilling their coaching expenses for the CSE examination.
Talking over the scheme, Governor Arif Mohammad said that serving as a civil servant is a dream for many but lack of proper guidance or expenses of relocating to a bigger city to meet educational requirements adds on to the expenses making them hurdles in the way.
First, of its kind, the ‘one school, one IAS’ program aims to produce at least one IAS officer from all schools across the nation. Those will mainly be from government or aided schools coming from semi-urban or rural schools.
The function was conducted and addressed in an online mode by the Vedhik Erudite Foundation. Dr. J Alexander, former Chief Secretary and Cabinet Minister of Karnataka said that this initiative will equip students to prepare for different kinds of competitive exams and not just the UPSC CSE. The academy will start grooming the students from the high school level soon and will focus on aspirants from rural areas, he added.
