The Other Backward Classes Commission has ordered the resolution of the issues relating to the interests of teachers, students, and employees of the University of Delhi as soon as possible after taking them into deliberation. The OBC Commission has affirmed hope that the Delhi University administration will take initiative on these issues soon.

Bhagwan Lal Sahni, the Chairman of the OBC Commission visited University of Delhi last month to meet the students and teachers. The teachers, students, and officials of Delhi University then asked OBC Commission to set up an OBC Grievance Cell. Furthermore, the staff and students raised the issue of arbitrary removal of OBC, SC, ST Adhoc teachers, and errors of the roster in various DU colleges.

OBC Commission Demands Resolution of Issues

The OBC commission further assured them to resolve these issues at the earliest. The OBC Commission on Saturday while taking cognizance of these issues said that over 27% of reservations in all undergraduate and postgraduate hostels should be implemented immediately. Moreover, demanded the review of Adhoc teachers who have been teaching at Delhi University for more than five years. At the same time, Swami Shraddhanand College, and Bharti College have been ordered to fix their roster and further file an affidavit. A detailed affidavit of expenditures of the OBC grant from Lakshmibai College has been sought.

Apart from this, since 2007, till now the data of admission of OBC applicants have been sought. In the appointments of the University of Delhi, an affidavit has been sought on the OBC certificate, NFS, nomination form fees.
