On Wednesday, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Kuman Pokhriyal disclosed to the public, a brand new application named  “National Test Abhyas”. This app will assist the JEE and NEET exams’ aspirants with mock tests.

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the entrance exams for engineering and medical field, has been postponed due to coronavirus spread and successive lockdown prevailing in the country. The launched app would definitely benefit the students in the preparation of these highly competitive national level examinations.

Earlier, On 5th May, Pokhriyal announced that exams have been rescheduled. 

“JEE-Mas will be organized from July 18-23, while JEE-Advanced will be done in August. NEET will be performed on July 26,” Nishank said.

More than 15 lakh candidates across the country have enrolled for NEET this year, which is the gateway to medical colleges in India, whereas more than 9 lakh have signed up for 

JEE Mains examinations

After collecting numerous requests from students the issues for competitive exams preparation, I instructed  @DG_NTA to develop an app that would assist students to prepare for these exams efficiently,” the minister tweeted.

The HRD Ministry has been has collected several requests from the students with respect to their suspicion about the exam criteria. Due to this, he directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to come up with a solution. The agency launched an app in order to clear the doubts of students, regarding the national level entrance exams.

The application is accessible for android smartphones and shortly it will be available on iOS devices as well. The app is absolutely free of cost and the students can easily download it from the play store. 

“The app will make ready exercise tests on smartphones or computers for all students in India irrespective of their level of access to equipment and quality of the network. The app moreover has an offline aspect where students, on downloading the mock tests, can undertake the test without the use of the internet. The application is available on Android-based smartphones, and tablets and can be taken from Google Play Store. The app will be available on iOS promptly,” said the PIB press release.

After downloading the app, the students will have to sign-up with some main details, build a free account, and then start using mock tests.

 

Before the above announcement, On 7th May, the minister said that, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced Exam will be executed on 23 August.

The NTA was to publish admit cards to NEET nominees in April, but the procedure was not taken up as the MHRD decided to suspend the exam in view of the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus alarm.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal on Friday, 15 May, announced that students appearing for NEET 2020 UG will have one last option of making changes to their candidates’   choice of test city till 31 May 2020.

In a message posted on Twitter, the minister affixed a statement by the National Testing Agency, which said that the examination body will “take actions to allocate city of examination to nominees in order of the selections now opted by them in the application form, subject to availability of potential in their favorite city.”
