NTA was going to conduct University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, UGC NET December 2020 cycle from 2nd to 17th May. But, the National Testing Agency has now postponed the date due to the outbreak of coronavirus cases.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has also postponed class 12th board exams. Moreover, it has canceled class 10th Board exam as well. Moving on further with the decision of exam postponement, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination took the same decision and postponed class 10 and 12 exams.
NEW SCHEDULE OF UGC NET DECEMBER 2020 CYCLE
The National Testing Agency said that it will release the date of the UGC NET December 2020 cycle exam at least 15 days before.
The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted about UGC NET cycle. He said that owing to the safety of students and examination functionaries during the pandemic, the National Testing Agency must postpone the exam.
POSTPONEMENT OF UGC NET
NTA conducts UGC NET twice in a year. June 2020 exam was also delayed due to COVID-19 and scheduled for September 2020. Now, December 2020 cycle is also postponed till May.

CBSE conducts NET in 84 subjects till 2018 nationwide. It conducts the exam for the University Grants Commission in 91 cities. However, NTA conducts the exam in December 2018. More than a million students appear for this exam.

It is a computer-based exam for the aspirants who want to get placed as a junior research fellowship and assistant professor.
Makeover, there are many fellowships like National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students, Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students, and National Fellowship for other backward classes. The Ministry of Social Justice and Ministry of Minority Affairs runs these fellowship programmes.
