A large-scale NSUI student protest took place outside the Vice Chancellor’s office at Delhi University’s North Campus today. The demonstration was led by DUSU President Ronak Khatri and DUSU Joint Secretary Lokesh Chaudhary. Thousands of students gathered to demand solutions to long-pending student issues.

Key Issues Raised by NSUI Student Protest

The protest aimed to address 10 major student concerns, which had remained unresolved for many years. Before this DUSU session, the previous ABVP-led DUSU had promised solutions but failed to act. The NSUI student protest highlighted these demands once again, urging the administration to act immediately.

Here are the 10 key issues raised during the protest:

  1. Installation of ACs in classrooms with solar panels on rooftops.
  2. Water coolers in all colleges.
  3. Free gym facilities for students in all colleges.
  4. No charges for students booking the sports complex, sports grounds, and MPH.
  5. Renovation of Polo Ground and introduction of 10 new games.
  6. Biometric attendance system for teachers in all DU colleges and departments.
  7. Reversal of hostel and college fee hikes.
  8. Bus services for South Campus, Kalkaji, and Outer College areas.
  9. Construction of new UG and PG hostels across all DU campuses.
  10. Inclusion of non-DUSU colleges and departments in DUSU governance.

Immediate Success Achieved by NSUI Student Protest

The NSUI student protest achieved partial success on the first day itself. After hours of protest, Delhi University authorities agreed to fulfil two major demands immediately:

  • Reversal of the hostel fee hike across all DU hostels.
  • Introduction of a bus service for North Campus within five days.

The university administration has assured that the remaining eight demands will be addressed within the next 15 working days.

Strong Police Presence and Security Measures

The NSUI student protest was peaceful, but Delhi University officials deployed a large police force at the protest site. Heavy barricades were placed outside the VC office to prevent students from entering. Additionally, water cannons were called in, and police officers were seen carrying lathis, creating a tense atmosphere.

Despite these measures, the protesters remained firm. The NSUI leadership, including Ronak Khatri and Lokesh Chaudhary, worked tirelessly with students to ensure a strong and united stand. Their combined efforts led to the success of the movement.

Growing Support for NSUI Student Protest

The NSUI student protest attracted massive support from students across all DU colleges. Many student leaders and activists joined the demonstration. The movement gained traction on social media, with students sharing updates and urging authorities to act.

The protest was fueled by frustration over years of delayed action on student issues. The NSUI student protest highlighted the urgency of these problems and brought them to the administration’s attention once again.

Hope for Resolution of Pending Demands

With two demands already accepted, students are now hopeful that the remaining eight issues will be resolved soon. The NSUI student protest proved to be a strong force in pushing for change. The student body continues to monitor the administration’s response closely.

If the remaining demands are not addressed within the promised 15 working days, the NSUI student protest may continue with more intensity. The student leadership is committed to ensuring that every demand is met without further delays.

Conclusion

The NSUI student protest at Delhi University marked a significant moment in student activism. It forced the administration to take immediate action on crucial student issues. The protest also sent a strong message that students will not stay silent when their rights are ignored.

With continuous efforts from student leaders and widespread student support, the NSUI student protest has successfully initiated change. The coming days will determine whether the remaining demands are fulfilled as promised. Until then, students remain vigilant and ready to raise their voices again if needed.
