NSUI PROTESTED AGAINST UPDATED GUIDELINES OF UGC OUTSIDE HRD OFFICE

NSUI protested against the new guidelines of UGC in front of the HRD Ministry.  The congress affiliated National Student Union of India on Tuesday displayed a protest outside the Human Resource   Development’s building.

According to the revised guidelines,  the final years’ exams are scheduled in September.

However, the protesters were detained by the police and taken to Mandir Marg Police Station. But,  they were released in the afternoon.

Neeraj Kundan, the head of NSUI, led the opposition.  Other students’ volunteers and office bearers also joined the protest.

Kundan bluntly asked questions regarding the execution scheme of exams. He asked if the Parliament has been suspended due to COVID 19 pandemic, why students’ lives have put in danger?

The exams should not take place and it is would prove fatal. Pointing more than 10 lakh cases in the country,  he alleged that the government does not worry about students’ safety.

Adding further,  he said that even parents are worried about the uncertainty about the exams. Also, they are highly concerned about the newly devised OBE outlet and the safety of their children.

HRD ASKS VARSITIES TO ALLOW THE STUDENTS WHO SKIP THEIR SEPTEMBER FINAL-YEAR EXAMS TO APPEAR LATER

In the surge of COVID 19 cases in the nation,  the ministry had on 25 June asked the  UGC’s panel of experts, headed by Haryana University Vice-Chancellor RC Kuhad to review the final examination guidelines issued on April 29.

DU EXAMS: NSUI WELCOMES THE DELHI GOVERNMENT’S DECISION TO PROMOTE 3RD-YEAR STUDENTS

According to the latest guidelines of UGC,  the final year examinations have to be done until September. The way to conduct exams may be online, offline, or mixed mode.
