It’s the first time that students belonging to non-science stream backgrounds can take admissions in IIT Delhi. The institute has opened its gates for students of arts and commerce backgrounds. As IIT Delhi has launched a new course in B. Des (Bachelors in Design). And this is the first course for Non-Science students at the Undergraduate level.
This course is open for students for all streams and every single kind of specialization. The selection for the course would be based on UCEED rankings.

However, it’s the first time for students of the Arts and Commerce stream to take admissions in the institute. The selection criteria remain according to Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Designs rankings. The Director Prof V Ramgopal said, “We are delighted to start a new journey with young creative minds”. And this remains the first time that we’re admitting UG students for the B. Des program.
BACHELORS IN DESIGNING
This will be a new course as we used to only have courses in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. And, We expect that the students who graduate from our institute with B.Des Degree would acquire leaderships role. They would become a new creative asset for all us. Whether they take up positions in Government, Industry, Academia, and consulting over a while.

This program’s designed for students to impart with good quality education. And to make the students socially conscious and industry-ready professionals. Who can address some of the greater challenges of our society, Prof. P.V.M Rao Head, IIT Delhi said.
IIT Delhi will offer the Bachelors of Deign course for the academic year 2022-23. The course will get offered by the institute’s Department of Design. The program offers a unique chance to unleash your creativity and innovations. It’s a four-year program and will have around 20 seats initially, the institute has said.
