In view of the pandemic situation due to the outbreak of coronavirus, offline exams have been done away with for final year students of Jamia Milia Islamia. It was scheduled that the exams of the final semester will be conducted from July 1. Now, the evaluation will be conducted based on assignments/online exams.

The University notification mentioned earlier that only the examination of final year/semester students will be held between 1st July 2020 to 31st July 2020 at the University. Students were also requested to submit their examination forms at the earliest possible.

The summer vacation in the University will continue till June 30 which started On June 15. For admission to various UG/PG courses, the entrance exam will be conducted from August 1 which will continue till the end of the month.

The Standing Academic Council of the University had its meeting on June 8. It looked at the possibility of conducting offline examinations for the terminal year students in July.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Najma Akhtar. Upon a lot of discussions, it was found that conducting offline examinations in the present situation was not viable.

The teachers, who are also the examiners will conduct the online examination/assessment. Different types of evaluation like assignment, dissertation, viva, or objective type questions can be used by the examiners. The teachers will choose the type of examination as per their choice.

PACKAGES AS HIGH AS 41 LAKH OBSERVED IN JAMIA

The evaluation and uploading of the marks of the students will be done by the designated subject teachers, as applicable. These marks will be uploaded before June 20 on the examination portal.

Earlier, the University had decided to cancel the semester examinations for all the students except for the terminal semester or final year students.

The practical exams of the final year students will be done similar to what is opted for students in the odd semesters.

Those students who were unable to appear for the odd semester exams, special examinations will be conducted for those students. These exams will be held in September or October along with the compartment examinations.

The University has directed the faculty of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management to continue the online classes. They have been directed to complete the course without any vacation break.

The online filling of admission forms for Jamia Milia Islamia University has been extended till 30 June due to the ongoing pandemic. The form for all the programs will be available for the candidates to edit between 1 to 3 July.
