NIRF RANKINGS OF 2023: FIVE DU COLLEGES AMONG TOP-10

Delhi University (DU) affirmed a slight improvement in the latest NIRF rankings of 2023 released by the Union Ministry of Education. The university succeeded in two positions, ensuring the 11th rank among universities. Also, DU’s overall ranking made it better, moving up to 22nd place from last year’s 23rd.

As per the NIRF rankings of 2023, the DU ranked back the city-based JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia, which maintained the second and third places respectively under the university classification.

Last year, the university was ranked 13th. In 2021, it stood at the 12th place. It ranked 11th in 2020, and 13th in 2019, as well as seventh in the university category in the year 2018.

The rankings have been done in varied mixtures like overall, universities, colleges, and research institutions among others. Five DU colleges stood among the top 10 colleges in the NIRF rankings with Miranda House ensuring the top spot for the seventh consecutive year.

TOP COLLEGES OF DU IN NIRF RANKING 2023: A DETAILED ANALYSIS

The DU’s Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College stood above LSR. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) placed among the top 10 colleges in the country.

In its overall ranking, the DU went up to the 22nd rank. The year 2021, it stood at 19th, while in 2020 and 2019, it stood at 18th and 20th respectively. In 2018, it ensured the 14th rank.

JESUS AND MARY COLLEGE QUESTIONS DU COUNCIL’S JUDGMENT

Five DU colleges stood among the top 10 colleges in the country this year. The Miranda House and the Hindu College maintained their rankings and bagged the top two spots. ARSD, which stood at seventh last year, rose a spot to bag the sixth position.

College for Women (LSR) stood among the top Kirori Mal College (KMC) as well as LSR 10 colleges. Last year, LSR restrained the fifth spot while KMC stood at 10th. SRCC ensured the 11th place while Hans Raj College. Sri Venkateswara College, as well as St Stephen’s, ensured the 12th, 13th, and 14th spots respectively.
