Infosys Limited, an Indian multinational company dealing in business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services has hired DU alumnus Nilanjan Roy as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His tenure will reportedly be effective from March 1, 2019.

Roy pursued Bachelor Of Commerce (Hons) from the University Of Delhi and is a chartered accountant. He joined Infosys from Bharti Airtel where he’s the Global Chief Financial Officer currently.

According to MD and CEO of Infosys, Salil Parekh, “We are delighted to announce that Nilanjan will join Infosys as our CFO. He comes to us with extensive and rich global experience. We would like to express our deep appreciation to Jayesh Sanghrajka for taking charge as interim CFO and thank him for ably executing this very important responsibility.”

Roy has worked with Bharti Airtel for around 13 years, before which he worked with Unilever for about 15 years, handling their global operations.

Meanwhile, interim CFO of Infosys, Jayesh Sanghrajka will continue being the deputy chief financial officer of the corporation. Sanghrajka was appointed as the interim CFO after M.D. Ranganath resigned from the job of the CFO without any prior notice.

Roy will be the first outsider to take the responsibility of the CFO post. In August 2015, he was appointed as the Global Chief Financial Officer of Bharti Airtel, before which he was CFO of company’s India and South Asia business.
