NEET PG 2023: The Indian Medical Association, IMA has sent a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate exam by 2-3 months. According to the NBE schedule, the entrance is scheduled to be on 5 March 2023.

The IMA argued that candidates who are currently doing their compulsory internship do not have enough time for preparation. Therefore, the 5 March date released by NBE is not fair for them. Also, many MBBS candidates haven’t completed their respective internship schedules. So, they will probably skip pursuing postgraduate this year.

In short, IMA said that the date of NEET PG 2023 is not according to the completion of students’ internship dates. Further, on 7 February, the Health Ministry extended the deadline for internships from 30 June to 11 August 2023.

Association said, “IMA headquarters requested resolving the issue of NEET postgraduate eligibility criteria. And it was resolved by extending the cut-off date of the internship. Now, this date needs to match synchronize with the date of entrance. The exams should be after the completion of internships not collide with it.”
