The Supreme Court rejected the petition seeking alteration in the NEET PG 2021 Exam Center. A bench of Justice S Ravindra Bhatt, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, and Justice Bela Madhurya Trivedi while dismissing the petition stated that the dire situation is improving rapidly. Apart from this, restrictions on travel are also being removed. In such a situation, there is no point in changing the examination center.

Meenakshi Arora, Senior counsel, seeming for the petitioner, had asserted that the situation of the COVID virus in many states including Maharashtra, Kerala, continues to be critical. The court declared that the situation is changing now. There is no restriction on travel anywhere in the country. All the seats on the flights from Delhi to Kochi, and Trivandrum are also full. The speed of vaccination is giving people the safety wheel.

Only last week, the Supreme Court had permitted to change the examination center for two girl students of NEET PG who are in the last months of pregnancy, but they have been given this permission under special circumstances. We are not considering it as a common situation.

It was requested in the petition that those who had done COVID duty till 18 April 2021, should be allowed to choose the nearest or convenient center of their choice according to their current posting. Considering the seriousness of the spread of infection, the candidate candidates of Kerala should also be given a similar exemption, but the bench dismissed the petition with the argument that everything was correct.
