NEET, JEE Main 2021: This is big information for the candidates of NEET and JEE Main. National Testing Agency, NTA has improved the rules and removed the provision of giving preference to older aspirants in the rank list of both the examinations.
Earlier, in the rank list of NEET and JEE Main, those aspirants who were older were given the first chance. Think of it such that if two students have got 720 marks, then the preference among them will be given to the competitor whose age is more.
This rule was beneficial the year 2020, but this rule has been discarded from the year 2021. To assemble the rank list for JEE Main as well as NEET 2021, NTA adopts a tie-breaking policy so that no two competitors are offered the same rank.
In the year 2020, in the tie-breaking policy adopted for JEE Main engineering paper, nominees with higher scores in Mathematics were given intention. After that Physics and Chemistry. If the tie persists, then the aspirants with fewer negative answers will be given preference. After this, competitors older in age will be given preference.
Related procedures were used for the BArch and BPlanning papers as adequately. But this year this tie-breaking policy has been discarded from JEE Main and NEET exams.
