NEET 2021 – The entrance examination for all premiere medical colleges will now have more internal choices. This step has been initiated to rule out any possibility of disadvantage for those students who have prepared for the examination based on the reduced syllabus which was prescribed by most of the boards- including the CBSE.
It has been clarified that there will be no syllabus cut in NEET 2021.
While interacting virtually with the students, education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank replied to a KV student which has created a lot of buzz if the syllabus was being reduced or not. However, it turns out that the Education Minister was hinting towards a change in pattern and not in the syllabus. He had said, “As the curriculum (for board exams) was cut by 30 percent due to Covid-19, therefore in the upcoming competitive examinations like JEE and NEET this year the candidates will have more options to answer the questions,”.
An official statement from the ministry of education stated that although the exact appropriate pattern is yet to be announced for NEET 2021 (UG). As some boards across the country had reduced the syllabus, hence because of that the aspirants of NEET 2021 (UG) will now have more options to answer on the lines of JEE (MAIN).
In addition to the internal choices being provided in the JEE Main, the number of attempts has also been doubled. One can expect the same for the NEET examination. Conducting NEET in a pandemic is viewed as more challenging than JEE Main as it is a pen and paper exam with a large number of candidates appearing on a single given day.
