Officials of the National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF), executive council, academia, and DUTA executive members demonstrated in front of the university administration over the decline in the statutory bodies of Delhi University in the last few years. The NDTF requested the University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Acting Registrar, and Dean of Colleges to save the University.

A delegation led by NDTF President Dr. AK Bhagi met the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Acting Registrar, and Dean of Colleges and handed over a requisition. Dr. Bhagi informed that meetings of the statutory bodies of the university are not being held regularly. Even the meetings that take place do not reach any conclusion.

He said that the posts have not been filled in time for the membership of constitutional bodies and also for membership of bodies like the managing committee.

DU executive member Dr. VS Negi said that the permanent appointment and promotion in the university have been pending for a long time. NDTF officials met university officials and demanded an immediate solution to these problems.

On this occasion, the elected representatives of NDTF, while referring to the meeting of October 10, said that the way this meeting of the Executive Council ended without discussing important topics like promotion, appointments, the appointment to key posts, etc., of the university’s wavering attitude, is evident.
