The new National Education Policy is released last week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said to the stakeholders who are in the education sector that they would implement the National Education Policy in the best manner.
He said to have an active discussion regarding the National Education Policy. He directed the stakeholders to prepare a strategy and have proper planning for the implementation of the Policy. PM Modi addressed more than 1000 universities and higher educational institutions including’s IITs, IIMs, and NITs at ‘Conclave on Transformational Reforms in Higher Education under National Education Policy.’ He addressed the heads and officials of all the higher educational institutions and also the Ministry of Education. He said that the National Education Policy should not be implemented through a circular. Everybody has to work for its implementation. Everybody should make strategies and follow up plans to implement it in the best manner.
University and school boards should prepare the strategies. Universities, colleges, school boards, and states should conduct a meeting and discuss the National Education Policy and its strategies.
Various plans were discussed with him regarding the policy and he responded to the plans as ‘healthy.’ He encouraged the stakeholders to have many more plans like those. He expressed his gratitude and showed a positive response to the policy.
He said that nobody called the policy as biased. People from different states are coming up with different points of view regarding the policies. A lot of discussions are takings place which is good. He further said that this kind of healthy debate should happen.
In relation to the policy of 5+3+3+4, the multiple exit option in college, and the importance of vocational education, PM Modi said that the National Education Policy will lay a foundation of the new India of the 21st Century.
He congratulated the team for the policy which is not biased and it’s free of controversies and focuses on the future. He also congratulated the former ISRO Chief Dr. K Kasturirangan who headed the panel of drafting the National Education Policy.
The colleges and other educational institutions will come up with new plans and strategies to implement the National Education Policy.
