All the schools and colleges across the nation are shut down since March. Some states were planning to reopen schools and colleges in January. One of them is Mumbai.
But, Mumbai Government canceled the plan to reopen educational institutions, at least by 15th January. On the other hand, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, BMC is concerned about the second wave of coronavirus.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS WILL REMAIN CLOSED FOR NOW
The authority announced this decision on Tuesday. All the schools, both government and private, as well as colleges that are under the municipal area will remain closed. There are some sort of chances that Mumbai will be under the second wave of coronavirus.
BMC EXTENDED THE DATE OF REOPENING SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
However, BMC announced that schools and educational institutions will remain closed by 31st December. But, the date is extended now. It is not decided yet whether schools will reopen on January 16.
SCHOOLS TO REOPEN IN NASHIK FROM JANUARY 4
AMERICAN CONSULATE SCHOOLS WILL REOPEN FROM JANUARY 18
The authority will take this decision later. It noted that for now, pandemic is under control within the state. American Consulate Schools and other Consulate Schools will reopen from January 18th. But, nobody knows when other schools will reopen.

Pune schools and schools in Nashik will reopen from January 4. Moreover, in most parts of Maharashtra, schools are already reopen. Although the final decision lines with the Maharashtra Government whether schools will reopen.
