The University of Delhi has been closed till April 26 after the lockdown in Delhi to deal with Corona’s uncontrollable infection. However, during this time the offices of the university will remain open and there will be pre-scheduled meetings. This decision was taken by senior officials of the university.

Because of the growing case of Corona in Delhi and DU, there was already a possibility of closing the campus for seven to 10 days. DU has said that after April 26, the situation will be reviewed. After which the campus can be reopened.

In an order issued by DU Registrar Vikas Gupta, it has been said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the directives of DDMA. It has been said that the pre-scheduled meetings and online classes of the selection committee will continue.

Employees will have to work from home as per predetermined arrangements while the campus is closed. However, the office can be called if required. The DU administration has asked all the employees to follow the instructions related to the corona issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

More than 100 staff of Delhi University infected

The Anthropology Department of Delhi University has already been closed. More than 15 employees of the School of Open Learning, 6 in the examination department and many in the college branch are also Corona infected. It is believed that more than 150 teachers, staff, and officers are infected at the University of Delhi.
