Paid verification for Facebook

On 19 February, Mark Zuckerberg announced the news of rolling out a new feature- Meta Verified through Instagram. It will allow the meta users for paid verification for Facebook, and Instagram. Australia and New Zealand are the first countries to be first to use these features.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, the verified users will be awarded with ‘Verified Badge’. Further, the visibility will increase on social media platforms and they will get direct access to customer support. 

Subscription Verification for Facebook, and Instagram starts at $12

The eligibility for earning blue badges on platforms is to have at least 18 years or more. Also, the person who wants to be part of Meta Verified needs to own government ID proof. Besides, the Meta subscription price is $12 per month on the web and $15 on Apple’s iOS.

Zuckerberg posted on Instagram about a new feature of meta-paid verification for Facebook, and Instagram one day ago. He said, “This week we have begun rolling out Meta Verified-a subscription service to let people verify their social media handle via government ID. They will get a verified badge, get extra impersonation protection against the fake account, and priority in customer support.”

Further, Mark stated that this new feature will assist in improving authenticity and security. The user who wants to get verified has to submit a government ID and must be 18 years old or more.
