Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has asserted that the role of school management committees will be heightened in the post-COVID era focusing on reducing the gap between parents and the schools. The minister clarified that the same at the inaugural session of the Delhi Education Conference which initiated on Monday – January 11, 2021.

Countries at the conference

The conference will be held until January 17, 2021, with 22 pedagogy experts from across the country and seven from other countries who will be communicating the public education system across the world. The experts coming from foreign countries including the US, Finland, England, Germany, Singapore, Netherlands, and Canada.

 The victory of the Delhi Education System

The Deputy CM who is also the Education Minister in the Delhi Cabinet while speaking at the opening of the conference stated that in the last five years the government has attained tremendous success in creating an excellent infrastructure of schools, teacher training and also boosted the results of the children. The real success of the government, however, the minister stated will be when every child leaves schools with a passion to do something for the country and commit to driving an improvement. Along with this, the children also must strive to be devoted human beings who will be joining the workforce in the country.

Panel Discussion

While speaking at the panel discussion on School Education Reforms in Delhi, Manish Sisodia told that the ultimate purpose of the ministry is to modify society and have citizens who have an entrepreneurial mindset and contribute to the nation.

Boston Consulting Group, during the conference, illustrated a report on the Delhi Government’s education reforms which claims that over 95 percent of parents and teachers believe that the quality of education in Delhi has enhanced in the government schools which leads to an increase in parent engagement by reinforcing the faith of the parents in the public education systems.

The report also cited that the education system in the state was molded by initiatives like Chunauti and Mission Buniyaad which has entrusted the students and involved the teachers and parents as well by strengthening the SMCs and increased the parent engagement and professional development of the teachers. It has also assisted enable the heads of schools.
