All the Schools will reopen in Maharashtra on June 15 in the year 2022. Schools will reopen with all feasible precautions, state Education Minister named Varsha Gaikwad said on Monday.

Ms. Gaikwad said students in Classes 1, as well as 2, have never been to schools because of the coronavirus pandemic for the previous two years.

All the Schools will open with all essential safeguards on June 15. This has been the date for the reopening of schools (after summer vacation), the minister said. School-going students have been affected due to the COVID-19 curbs in the previous two years.

Notably, Maharashtra has been glimpsing a surge in daily COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. Monday was the fifth successive day when the state witnessed 1,000 plus infections.

Because of the increasing graph of infections. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has requested people to wear masks, though using them is not compulsory.

“The government has not taken any decision on making the use of masks compulsory but we are urging people to wear masks. Instead of falling ill, citizens should examine hygiene, wear the mask as well as follow social distancing,” Tope had tweeted.
