The Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, announced its entry into the 5G segment of India, today. The RIL’s Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D Ambani announced this today at the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Ambani, while addressing the shareholders, media, prospective investors, and the general public said that he has great pride in announcing that Jio has managed to design and develop a complete 5G solution from scratch. This will help India in using 100% homegrown technologies and solutions in launching world-class 5G service in India.
Ambani called this a ‘Made in India’ 5G solution. The service will be ready for field development next year when the 5G spectrum is available in India. He has also assured that the up-gradation from 4G will be extremely easy.
Ambani has dedicated the launch of 5G services in India to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat’s vision of PM Narendra Modi. Ambani also said that once the 5G service will be set up in India, it will also be offered to the other global telecom operators.

He added that once the solution of Jio 5G is proved in India, the platform of Jio will be in a good position to export to other global telecom operators.

This investment is one of the many big investments that RIL has invested in Jio Platforms. In the last couple of months, Facebook, Intel, Qualcomm, and others have also invested in Jio. Reliance Jio has managed to raise over Rs 1.52 lakh crore in the last few months from strategic partnerships with overseas investors.
