If you are in 12th and thinking hard about which college to go for after 12th that offers economic course then here are some best colleges of Delhi University. Colleges are listed based on the factors of academics, faculty, placement and college campus. Isn’t it what all you look for while rating a college! Then take a review of best economic college in Delhi University.

We wouldn’t say that any college is better than the rest in terms of academics for B.A Eco (H), because the curriculum is centrally set, the reading material is standard, faculty is more or less equally qualified and examinations are conducted University-wide.

But yes, there are definitely some popular ones. And by popular, I don’t just mean popular among the students but also among the companies which come to DU for hiring. The more popular and reputed your college is perceived to be, the better chances of recruitment and getting a better pay for you.

 

1) St. Stephen’s College

St. Stephen  ’s college was founded in 1881, a Christian constitute college of Delhi University. The name is enough to entice students since it a well renowned college worldwide. It is located in north campus of Delhi University. College offers under graduation course of economics and post-graduation in economics.  Over 45 companies visit for placement and the average salary package is INR 7.81 p.a. College is strict in terms of discipline. It constitutes one of the best faculties in economics and in other courses as well. Students have profound impact of professors through lectures and seminars.

2) Delhi school of economics

DSE was founded in 1949, located in North campus. It is a central core for economics learning in under graduation or post-graduation. Academically, it is very rigid and is not much focused toward extra-curricular activities like other colleges. The department of economics has the best faculty from all over India. Brilliant minds share their ideas, theories in form of lectures. DSE provide a world of opportunities. Alumni of DSE are flourishing in national and multi-national companies. The average salary package is of 10- 11 lacks p.a. If you get an option of DSE for Economics after your graduation then there is no second opinion required.

3) Shri Ram College of commerce

The college is also known as SRCC among students. The institution is solely dedicated to commerce and economic courses. The faculty comes from foreign universities and will inspire you a lot. There is a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. Being a part of societies and fest will drive you toward another journey. Reputed companies like McKinsey, BCC, DE Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte and many Startups come every year to hire graduates from SRCC and the average salary package is of 6 lakhs p.a. If you want exclusive and happening college life along with seriousness toward academics then SRC C is the name.

4) Lady Shri Ram College

LSR College is only for women and dedicated for empowering women in various fields.  For studying Economics this is one of the best colleges. Again the fest, faculties and placement exposures are exclusive yet the college is more focused toward academics. Every year renowned companies visit and hire students .Coming on average salary package is 6-8 lakhs p.a. Studying in LSR is a thing of being proud. If you are a girl then LSR is the best option.

5) Hindu College

Hindu college, located in North campus is another name for best economic college. Students get job offers from Google, Jaypee trading, KPMG, other consulting firms. According to students, faculty might not be up to the mark yet exposures provided by college are excellent since it a brand name college. The atmosphere is full of competitiveness and learning making student get to know their competency and help them in defining their careers.

 

6) Hans Raj College

The best economics faculty can be found here. The knowledgeable and sincere teachers take an extra attempt for enlightening students. They are mostly from the best institutes of economics. Apart from this the college provides placement opportunities. Prominent companies have name of this college in their list to find gems. No doubt on extra-curricular activities that college keeps on organizing. College has equilibrium between studies and extra-curricular activities.

7) Ramjas College

Ramjas College is one of the first three colleges that were established under the University of Delhi. The college provides degree in B.A Economics and B.A Economics (honors). According to students it is a most underrated college. The faculty constitutes best teachers of economics .Some of them are even from DSE. Various reputed companies visit the campus for placements, summer internships like Ernst n Young, Deloitte, Teach for India, Zomato etc. Departmental fests are pride of this college.

8) Miranda House

A well reputed college for women. College offers degree in B.A. Economic (honors). The college keeps on organizing seminars, workshops and internship programs that make students industry ready.  Even students are offered placement offers with attractive packages. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and have done excellent research work in field of economics and others subjects as well. Away from academic life the college also provides a ride to fun through societies and fest. If you get a chance at Miranda House for Economics it is worth accepting happily.

9) Kirorimal College

Kirorimal College is also good choice for Economics under Delhi University. The faculty of most courses especially economics are proficient in their subjects. Members of faculty are always ready for helping students. Big firms like Google, Wipro, Genpact, KPMG, Ernst and Young visit this college for placements. The average salary package is same as other college. College provides excellent skills for using in real world.

10) Sri Venkateshwara College

This College comes under south campus offer B.A. economics (honors) course. Faculties have young teachers though qualified and are doing excellent in their respective fields. The college give enrich exposure to career. Students get placement offers from companies like EnY, Deloitte, Google and KPMG. College have cool and happening crowd.  Campus of college is huge but may be infrastructure is not very attractive. Still for Economics learning you can rely on this college. Your future will be in safe hands.
