LADY SHRI RAM COLLEGE ANNOUNCES LOWERING OF FEES AFTER STUDENT SUICIDE

New Delhi: After a student committed suicide due to the family’s alleged poor financial condition, the ‘Lady Shri Ram College’ (LSR) set up a committee to reduce the fees of some courses, provide laptops and allow some second-year students to stay in hostels.

The college said in an official order that considering some students are not able to avail of some facilities due to not being on campus, the college has removed some of the fees this year.

This will reduce the fees considerably. Apart from this, fees can also be paid in installments. The order said that keeping in mind the circumstances caused by the global epidemic of COVID-19, new first-year girls, and third-year students.

After providing space in the hostel, the current second-year girl study first-year allowed to stay in the hostel on the new application and based on need.

The Lady Shri Ram College administration has also concluded that once the outbreak of the epidemic subsides, the hostel seats will once again be increased to 288 and, depending on the need, a few more girls in the second and third years will be provided accommodation in hostels.

Moreover, Aishwarya (19), a student of Telangana, studying in Delhi’s Lady se Shri Ram College, concerned about her studies due to the poor financial condition of the family, allegedly committed suicide on November 2. The college administration takes this decision after the demands of the student union after the death of Aishwarya.
