The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET eligibility criteria are restricted to certain conditions. These conditions are set up by the National Testing Agency. If students aspire to appear for NEET, they must fulfill the conditions.

After 2018, the agency has incorporated certain guidelines for the students. In the NEET eligibility criteria, the restrictions related to age limit and type of school are not in operation.

CHANGES IN NEET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

So, go through the changes made in the NEET eligibility criteria.

Firstly, students must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as primary subjects in class 12th. Moreover, students who are going to appear for their Board Exams this year are also eligible to apply for NEET.

According to the NEET eligibility criteria, a candidate must be of at least 17 years to appear for the exam. For general category candidates, the upper age limit is 25. On the other hand, the upper age limit for reserved category students is 30.

There are the minimum qualifying marks criteria for the students. Unreserved category students must score a minimum of 50 percent marks. SC/ST category must have 40 percent marks and PwD category students must score a minimum of 45 percent marks.

NEET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORY STUDENTS

According to the NEET eligibility criteria, foreign Nationals, Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and OPIs can appear for the exam. 10 percent seats are for general and EWS category students. On the other hand, Schedule Caste category seats are for 15%, Scheduled Tribe category seats are for 7.5%, students from other backward classes get 27% reserved seats and physically handicapped students get only 3% reserved seats.

NEET FORMS WOULD RELEASE SOON

The National Testing Agency has not yet released the application form of NEET 2021. But the agency would release the form by April. Students can still check how the application process takes place and what are its requirements. They have to fill the form online that would be available on the official website and complete the payment from there only.

APPLICATION FEES OF NEET 2021

The application fees for general category students is ₹1500 EWS category students OBC category students is Rs.1,400. SC and handicapped students have to pay only 800. The exam would take place on 1st August.
