Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies Delhi University is one of the premier institutions of the University of Delhi,  providing education in the areas of management and information technology with quality and conception.  The official website of SSCBS is http://sscbs.du.ac.in/

It was founded in August 1987 by the Delhi Administration. UGC and the Ministry of Human Resources paved the way for the college’s establishment.

When the college was inaugurated it was named “COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDIES ”. But later the college was changed as ‘ Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies’ in 1997, to pay tribute to Indian revolutionary Sukhdev Thapar who along with Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru became part of independence lore for their sacrifice.

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, or CBS, as it is said by the student, was the early undergraduate management school under the authorization of the University of Delhi(DU). Once the Inaugural ceremony,  it renamed as SHAHEED SUKHDEV  COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDIES.

In 1987 when the college was commenced it gave simply one course i.e. BBS (Bachelor of Business Studies). However, with the surging need in 1991, the College of Business Studies became the first college in Delhi University to approve the semester system, for its BBS course. After 19 years, the semester system was then executed in all courses across the university in 2010.

In the year 1999, the college came to be the only college in the nation to provide the BFIA program, a core Finance incorporated program that carries over six semesters. BSc. Computer science has been renovated into a B.techdegree. Up till 2012, the college also gave a Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Application (PGDCA), which has since then been terminated. This year it also began with the BMS course.

With over 30 societies, CBS has a society for almost every tract of interest, and also for those who have no interests at all.  You name it and the college has. There are opportunities in volume to pursue and further your interests in a variety of fields or hobbies, be it music, dance, theatre, writing, sports, debating, quizzing, photography, social work among many others.

The college gets invited to, and annually participates in prestigious celebrations across the country comprising BITS-Pilani, IIT Mumbai, IIM Bangalore, and IIT- Kanpur. Over the years our teams have won awards across all of these, winning street play competitions, quizzes, group discussions.

The students learn to strike a balance between academics and extracurricular activities while acquiring and honing their leadership, problem structuring, analytical and team skill; skills which we feel, are essential for tackling and measuring up to occurring challenges in the business world while confirming that after 3 years of relentless education, pupils hit the business ground and come out with flying colors.

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies’ students are required to attempt an internship in a business organization on the completion of their 2nd year or 4th semester for the objective of developing up their logical experience alongside the theoretical knowledge gained in class and through projects undertaken as a part of their internal assessment. This assists them in learning how to interact with other professionals in a business setting. Many students also prefer to undertake summer internships on the completion of their 1st year as it helps in bringing up them to the business environment and may even help in obtaining a suitable placement after the fulfillment of their undergraduate course.

They are welcome to communicate with their teachers, be it regarding their course curriculum, internal assessment projects, and even respecting their participation in inter-college competitions. Moreover, the faculty is ever- ready to boost the students in their academic endeavors.

The admission process for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and BBA (Financial Investment Analysis) course is distinct and somewhat more hard from the regular cutoffs based on Class XII results, as observed in other colleges of the university.
