Rajdhani College Delhi University was established in 1964 by the Delhi Administration in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi. Under the name of Government College and, it renamed Rajdhani College when the Delhi administration granted its governance in an independent Governing Body. Rajdhani College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi and has finished 50 glorious years of academic superiority. The College is set in West Delhi on Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road) near Raja Garden, New Delhi is accessible from all nooks of Delhi. Rajdhani college’s strategic location creates the college much sought after apart from its academic excellence.

Initially, the Rajdhani college was started in a school building at Kirti Nagar. With minor facilities but with the actions of the Governing Bodies, faculty, and administrative staff, the college comes to be one of the best colleges of the University of Delhi. To cater to the increasing number of students, authorities constructed an elegant and spacious college in 1976-77.  President of India Sh. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed initially integrated the college. Recently a new academic block has been built to include the ever-increasing number of students. The two-storeyed new slabs have eight new classrooms, one computer lab, and one biology lab along with a lift. The college complex has an air-conditioned Seminar/Conference Room, an air-conditioned Auditorium, a well-stocked Library with Computer & Internet facility with availability to more than one lac scholarly books and ebooks on several subjects. The college retains well-equipped Science Laboratories, as well as Math and Computer Laboratories.

At the time of the freshers’ celebration, the seniors traditionally put “tilak” on the newcomer’s forehead, as a gesture of respect and familiarity. Moreover, the college has a large playground with all the sports facilities available.
