The government-funded college, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences Delhi University is affiliated to Delhi University and was established in 1995. The college is named after a great mathematician of the 12th century. The college has a great diversity in societies which can keep students busy even when they are outside the classrooms. Creating individuals who are not only studious but also extremely talented is the driving force of this college.


The college does not offer any postgraduation courses. It only offers undergraduate courses in Botany, Computer Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation, Microbiology, Physics, Polymer Science, and Zoology.



The Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences Delhi University is a good college if you want to pursue science courses since the faculty is extremely good. Also, the college has well-equipped laboratories to ensure that students are provided with practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge. The campus life in the college is awesome, you will have many societies to participate in where the societies will be run only by the students. Tours and one-day trips are also held by the college and the individual departments.

The alumni cell of the college is also very active, and all the alumni are still in touch with the college. They are very helpful to the present students and are always welcoming to those students who want any guidance from them. Annually, an alumni meet is held where the present students interact with the passed-out students and take their help.

The college also has a large number of celebrations, therefore, you will never get bored. Sports day, Independence Day, Sports week, all this is held in which different departments compete with each other. A grand fest called ‘Srijan’ is also organized by the college during the famous fest season.

The college does not have any hostel facilities yet since it is a new hostel in comparison to the other colleges of Delhi University. The canteen, although pure-vegetarian, has good quality, healthy food available. Though the college does not provide any internship opportunities to its students, the college provides its students with the option of working on projects within the college. The students get a stipend for doing this work.

The college does not provide any scholarship of its own, but it follows all the scholarships provided by the University of Delhi.

The infrastructure of the college is very good since it has lab facilities for every department and there are different clubs for students where they can participate on the basis of their interest. The ground is available for sports. The college has a well-maintained library and has projectors in each and every room. For the differently-abled students, the college has ramps all over the campus. Several e-waste management initiatives have also been undertaken by the college such as making e-waste bins available on the college premises.

The only drawback you might find is that the college does not belong to any campus per se, it is off-campus. Therefore, you might not get the same atmosphere which you will find in the north or the south campus of DU, but you will certainly enjoy your college life since the college provides you with all the facilities.
