Kejriwal Govt Appeals to Reduce the Cutoff to fill DU Vacant Seats

Delhi Government has written a letter to the University of Delhi Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh about reducing the cut-off in order to fill DU vacant seats. Moreover, the Kejriwal government emphasised troubles faced by reserved category students during the admission process.

On Friday Delhi’s SC-ST Welfare Minister Raj Kumar Anand wrote to Yogesh Singh regarding filling the vacant seats in DU colleges. He quotes “In this academic session, around thousands of seats are vacant which are reserved for SC students. Moreover, this happened because last year the same procedure was not there. This is the first time admission is conducted through CUET edam score or ranks.”

Further, he focused on difficulties faced by SC / ST category students in the current year. The DU undergraduate admission was conducted for the first time through the CUET exam. However, a thousand seats are still vacant. In response to the appeal of the Delhi Government, the Vice-Chancellor refused to start the admission process again. He said that it is not possible now.
