Kanhaiya Kumar joins Congress

On Tuesday, today Kanhaiya Kumar joins Congress at the All India Congress Committee headquarters, New Delhi. Moreover, Jignesh Mevani, Gujarat Dalit leader extends his support to the Congress party.

Earlier, Kanhaiya Kumar was a part of the Communist Party of India, CPI. Then from Begusarai, Bihar, he contested against Giriraj Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party. However, he couldn’t win.

Former student leader Kanhaiya Kumar at the event said, “I’m uniting with Congress as this party is not just a party but an idea too. Congress is the oldest and democratic party in India. Also, the country cannot survive without Congress, including me.”

He asserted, “Crores of youngsters in India also feel that the country is only saved until the congress exists.” Further, he claimed, “This party is like a ship because if it is preserved, several people’s aspirations will be protected. And, the oneness of Mahatma Gandhi, the Courage of Bhagat Singh, and the equality idea of BR Ambedkar also be safeguarded.”
