The JoSAA 2020 counseling procedure for seat allotment for admission to UG courses including BE/BPlan/BTech/BArch in all the prominent technological institutes of India including IITs will commence from 6th October. For enrollment in academic sessions 2020-21, MNNIT (Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology) has been authorized for the responsibility of CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology will hold the admissions for government-funded institutes of northeastern states including 31 NITs (National Institutes of Technology), 26 IITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and 29 government institutes.
Admissions to all the UG degree courses of technology and engineering as well as planning/architecture in 31 NITs, 26 IITs, 29 GFTIs, IIEST-shibpur of the country, will be allocated by joint seat allocation authority (JoSAA 2020) which comprises of Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) for NIT and Joint Admission Board (JAB) for IITs.

CSAB 2020 to Accompany JAB & NIC for the JoSSA 2020 Counseling Procedure
A dedicated and hardworking CSAB 2020 headquarters has been built upon the MNNIT Allahabad campus with a committee of institution officials bearing several obligations of counseling for the 2020-21 academic session. The foundation team of CSAB 2020 comprises of representatives from MHRD, directors of IITs and NITs. CSAB 2020 is closely working along with JAB and NIC to make the JoSAA 2020 admission procedure and counseling procedure smooth.
These UG admissions will be given based on All India Rank of the aspirants in the JEE (Main) exam. Over 35,000 seats in more than 500 courses will be offered to candidates in CSAB 2020.
The CSAB will further be responsible for adjusting supernumerary seats for female candidates to ensure that at least 20% of girl students seek admission to IIEST Shibpur and NITs in this academic session. CSAB is further responsible for the execution of a 10% reservation of EWS in IIEST Shibpur, NITs, and some participating GFTIs.
In view of the coronavirus pandemic, the physical presence for the counseling procedure has been eradicated.

Professor Tripathi said that suitable amendments have been encompassed in rules of the business in terms of online reporting, online admission process, and online document verification, thereby maintaining the sanctuary and safety of stakeholders and candidates. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Education this year has reduced the minimum 75% or 65% (SC/ST) marks so that more number of seats can be enrolled in.
Seat allotment procedure this year will encompass six rounds of seat allocation in JoSAA to be carried by JoSAA 2020 counseling for admission to NIT+ and IITs from 6th October to 9th November. This will be commemorated by two rounds to be conducted by CSAB 2020 only for the NIT+ system.
