JNU TO ALLOW STUDENTS OF SOCIAL SCIENCE IN CAMPUS

Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU will enter into a new phase, i.e. phase 4 to reopen the college campus. Now, disabled students pursuing Ph.D. can enter into the campus. JNU has also allowed students of social sciences to enter into the campus.

However, the student’s union JNUSU has objected to the same. The union has not got any notice about reopening colleges for social sciences students. On the other hand, JNUSU has called upon a meeting with the college administration. They demanded that the administration should reopen the university immediately.

DISABLED STUDENTS OF Ph.D. CAN ENTER INTO THE CAMPUS

JNU will allow only disabled students now to enter into the varsity. Students with disabilities might need access to college laboratories. So, both hostel residers and day scholars of science center can come into the university. Students have to follow the guidelines if they want to enter into JNU schools.

STUDENTS HAVE TO FILL A SELF-DECLARATION FORM

However, it is the responsibility of chairpersons and deans of respective schools to maintain those guidelines. Students of JNU have to submit a self-declaration form. Moreover, they will be quarantined for seven days.

JNU SET TO REOPEN ITS CAMPUS FOR PHD STUDENTS

STUDENTS HAVE TO DOWNLOAD AAROGYA SETU APP

JNU students entering the campus have to download the Aarogya Setu app on their phones and keep a regular status of their health. The canteens and dhabas of JNU will be closed for now. On the other hand, JNUSU will continue their protest on Monday.

The Vice-President Saket Moon of JNUSU said that the varsity is finding reasons to back-off students from entering the campus. He said that if the varsity is not calling students due to COVID-19, it is not valid because there were many cases in the college’s administration.

JNU HAS A COVID 19 MONITORING COMMITTEE

Moon further said that although JNU extended the date of submitting a thesis for Ph.D. students. But, they will try their best to return to the campus and complete their research and find a job. The Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University said that the university has a COVID-19 monitoring committee and the committee is observing the current pandemic situation. He further said that the varsity has allowed fewer students in the first three phases.

The varsity is allowing students stage by stage to return to the campus. The Vice-Chancellor said that they cannot enter a large number of students all at once. So, they will allow all the students once the situation improves.
