The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administartion has finally called the PhD scholars to the campus as the campus is about to open. The varsity administration is planning on opening the campus but in a phased manner by next week i.e., after durga pooJa.

The day scholars will be allowed to use or work in the laboratories and use libraries, after the campus reopens, for research and practical work.

The registrar of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Pramod Kumar, said that to devise a proper plan, a special committee has been constituted, for the re-opening of the campus adn to allow the students to use the study rooms while following the Covud-19 Guidelines. The students will be permitted in a phased manner. Giving an example he said that for a student who has any deadline for December to submit any thesis or research paper, he/she will be allowed to use the libraries adn the labs.

All the laboratory heads have also been asked by the varsity administration to prepare adn provide a roster about how many students can be easily accommodated in the labs at once while keeping in mind and adhering to all the COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing norms.

The decision about re-opening the labs and libraries shall be notified on Wednesday.

Temperature check, sanitisation of bags and hands and all other safety arrangements will be provided and made available at the entry gate only.

A special ‘ID CARD’ will also be provided to the scholars for entering into the campus. Only 100 students will be permitted on the campus at first. Several protests were held by the Jawaharlal Nehru Student’s Union in the last week demanding the administration to open the campus in a phased manner.
